About Wahylain

I am a graduate-level Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) student in Texas supervised by Christy Findlay, LPC. I am passionate about supporting adolescents, individuals, and families as they navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and hope.

I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing when provided with a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment.
My goal is to create a welcoming environment where clients can openly share their experiences, explore their emotions, and feel empowered to move toward the life they want and to feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment.

As I continue my professional journey, I remain dedicated to lifelong learning and providing ethical, evidence-informed care that meets the unique needs of every client.

Professional Approach & Philosophy

My counseling approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, which means I believe healing begins through a trusting, authentic relationship built on empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard. I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their pace while providing encouragement and support throughout the counseling process.

I also incorporate trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to help clients better understand their experiences, build resilience, and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. I value multicultural humility and recognize that our families, cultures, identities, and life experiences shape who we are. My goal is to provide a safe, inclusive space where every client feels respected, valued, and empowered to pursue meaningful change.

Personal Background

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, traveling, and experiencing different cultures. I also enjoy fishing, which gives me an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and connect with nature.

These experiences remind me of the importance of balance, authenticity, and meaningful connection—values I strive to bring into my work with every client.
