About Aaron

Aaron Hennig is a CMHC Practicum Student, supervised by Christy Findlay, LPC, who works with adolescents and adults seeking support with mental and emotional health needs, relationships, and personal challenges. Aaron is highly committed to ethical practice, a safe and empowering therapeutic relationship, and creating a collaborative environment based on trust, respect, and understanding.

 

Approach to Counseling

Aaron believes that therapy should be a safe space where clients can be heard and understood, considering the uniqueness and multi-cultural considerations of each client. He emphasizes a collaborative effort that empowers clients to find their voice, have agency in their lives, and build on the strengths they already possess.

His approach is client-centered and strengths-based, focused on the unique needs of his clients and their lived experience, goals, and values. Aaron strongly emphasizes identity and self-awareness, mindfulness, growth and personal development, and self-compassion.

Aaron is passionate about life-long learning, self-discovery, and personal growth. He is a student of Stoic Philosophy and strives to incorporate the values of wisdom, courage, justice, and temperance into all aspects of his daily life. Outside of therapy, Aaron is a highly committed father of two children and enjoys spending his free time reading and exercising.
